Which countries respect international copyright law?

Copyright protection is recognised in over 182 countries worldwide through international agreements such as the Berne Convention.

This means that if you create original work in one member country, your copyright is generally recognised and protected in all other member countries.

What is the Berne Convention?
The Berne Convention is an international treaty that ensures copyright protection across countries without the need for formal registration. Most major countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, European Union members, Canada, and Australia, are part of this agreement.

For a full and up-to-date list of participating countries, see: WIPO Berne Convention member list.
